    Memorandum sale agreement Parties: (i) Louisa Ebsworth of Stotfold, widow; David Smith of 221 City Road, London, draper & James Brown of Baldock, Hertfordshire. (ii) Louisa Ebsworth. (iii) Louisa wife of Samuel Redhouse of Stotfold; Mary Ellen wife of Ebenezer Henry Smith of 43 Tranquil Vale, Blackheath, London, house furnisher and Edward Henry Ebsworth of Stotfold, draper and grocer. (iv) Edward Henry Ebsworth. Reciting: - Will of John Ebsworth dated 17th May 1897 (proved 18th Nov 1897) whereby (ii) was created a life tenant. - Land to be equally divided amongst (iii) on death of (ii). - (iv) has option of purchasing (a) on death of (ii) but circumstances have arisen where it is desirable to give (iv) that option during her lifetime Operative: - (i) agrees to sell (a-d) to (iv). (a) Business of a general grocer draper as now being carried out by (ii) & (iv) under the name Ebsworth & Sons together with all fixtures, fittings and utensils in trade at the shop premises for £200. (b) Live and dead rolling stock and stock in trade and book debts as is to be shortly valued by C.T. Smith of Chatham, Kent. (c) Shop and buildings in Church Crofts, Stotfold and a portion of the meadow lying to the S of the iron fence intersecting the same for £500. (d) Outbuildings, garden and yard adjoining (a) and meadow on N of said iron fence for £750. Payment: - For (a-b): £200 from present standing to credit of (iv); £800 on day of possession; £521/7/4 in bills of exchange to be paid to (i) monthly and £330 to be paid in meantime subject to interest at £4 per centum per annum. - For (c): Payment on completion of purchase of 2/3rds of £500 with residue to be secured on the estate. - For (d): Payment on completion of purchase of 2/3rds of £750 with residue to be secured on the estate.
