    Settlement: (i) Hen., Earl of Kent (ii) Luke Norton of Offley, Herts., esq. Ric. Bowle of Chesham, Bucks., esq. recites that the Earl has made 2 conveyances of the lands concerned, which have been revoked; in consideration of love for Anth. Grey of Burbage, clerk, Hen. Grey his s., and his other children (Anth. being of 'the name, bloud & kyndred' of the Earl and the next heir male 'to whom the honour and dignitie of the Earldome is to discent' if Chas. Grey, bro. of Earl, die without male issue;) covenants to stand seized of estate, the uses of which are limited by indenture of 10 May 1601 between (i) Hen., Earl of Kent (ii) Gilb. & Mary, Earl & Countess of Shrewsbury (iii) Thos. Lord Buckhurst, Lord High Treasurer, 0l., Lord St. John of Bletsoe, Sir Wm. Russell, Sir Drue Druery, Ben. Pigott esq. & others; to use the Earl for life; then to Anth. Grey for life; then to Hen.
