- TitleAgreement (copy): between Hen., Earl of Kent (d.1615) and Hen.,Ld.Compton, by mediation of Fra., Earl of Bedford, & 01.,Ld.St.John: 1. The Earl of Kent to have Harrold manor, Thurleigh, lands late Snow's in Gravenhurst, and all other lands in Beds. which were the inheritance of Geo., 2nd Earl of Kent; 2. lands held by Tho.Bawde or Jn. Gostwick in Gravenhurst, late parcel of Snow's, to be discharged of leases made by Ld.Compton; 3. lands to be assured from Compton to Grey within a year; 4. Compton covenants to discharge leases; 5. he will allow peaceable possession; 6. he will enter into a bond for perf. of covts.; 7. he will pay to Kent 1,400; 8. the Earl of Kent will assure to Compton the manors of Yardley Hastings, Castle Ashby, and the Hundreds of Wymersley, Hamfords hull, Barons Moote and Earls Barton, Northants.; 9. the Earl of Kent will save Compton harmless from any encumbrances of the late Earl, his bro., or Sir Hen. his gdfather; 10. the Earl of Kent will stand bound for perf. of covts.; 11. he will stand bound to suffer Bawde and Gostwick to occupy lands until Mich. twelvemonth.
