    Bill in Chancery: by Ralph Matts of Whitchurch, Bucks., yeo., & w.Dor. (late w. of Jeff Paulmer of Bucks.). Elstow Abbey owned the advowson of Flitton & Silsoe, mansionho., tithe barn & glebe, & tithes of corn, hay & wood. They leased these Jan. 1535/6 to Thos. Hill of Silsoe, yeo., for 39 yrs. @ 15 p.a. At the dissolution Hen.VIII took over, and gtd. to Christ Church,Oxford. Christ Church 16 Feb. 1547/8 leased to Thos. Palmer, gent., for 40 yrs. after Thos. Hill; reversion to Edw. Greenvile of Bucks., esq., 18 Feb. 1569/70. Will of Edw. Greenville 28 Oct. 1585 devised to Dor. annuity of 10 p.a. charged on Flitton parsonage. His widow Alice m. Walt.Dennyes, who subsequently sold the lease to Jn. Pigott of Gray's Inn; who later transferred it to Hen., Earl of Kent, who has not paid the annuity.
