agreements & marr. of (i) & (ii). And for securing
300 p.a. to (ii).
(i) Wm. Weddell (nee Elcock) Esq. of York, only surviving s. of
Ric. Weddell. (nee Elcock)
(ii) Eliz. Ramsden, eldest dtr. of Sir Jn. Ramsden Bt. decd. and
Dame Margaret Ramsden
(iii) Dame Marg. Ramsden & Thos. Ramsden Esq. of par. of St.
George, Hanover Square, Mddsx, excrs. of will of Sir Jn.
Ramsden.
(iv) Frecheville Ramsden Esq. of par. of St. George, Hanover
Square, and Robt. Ramsden Esq. of Osberton, Notts.
(Rec. of recitals of 20/57/1 (i) personal representative of
Thos. Weddell by will of 1747 and holds personal estate;
eventually 5000 to be pd. to (i) of 20/57/1 in case she
marries. Rec. (ii) by marr. settlement of her parents of
13 January 1748 entitled to 3000 as her share in 6000
appointed for portions of the younger children, and
directed by will of her father of 2 February 1767 to be
paid out of his personal estate (plus legacy of 2000)
(ii) by Instrument of Appointment of 2 Feb. 1771 executed
by her mother entitled to 6000, partly raised by sale of
moiety of manor of Ackworth pd. to her f. and in his
hands at his death. Therefore 10,000 due to (ii). (ii)
also entitled to to 1000 3% Consols in name of her father;
and by will of My. Lowther of Ackworth Park, spinster decd.
of 10 September, 1752 entitled to one third (value 2500)
of mess. & lands in Holbeck and Wortley in par. of Leeds.
Rec. of (i) and (ii)'s intended marr., proposed on treaty
by and between (i), (ii), (iii) that (iii) should pay
10,000 to (i) on marr., and transfer 1000 annuities &
convey lands (in Holbeck & Wortley) to him. (i) to secure
(ii) from marr. 300 a yr. from manors and lands in
Arnforth, Leppington, Scrimingham, Barthorpe and Acklam -
latter to be for (ii)'s jointure after (i)'s decease. From
(i)'s manor and lands in Wigglesworth and Little Newton
200 for life to be paid to (ii) and 1000 with interest
after his dec. (i) to secure 10,000 for portion(s) of
child(ren), other than eldest or only son. Latter - if
there was one - would succeed to (i)'s estate on his
death according to 1747 will of Thos. Weddell.)
(i - iv.) - - Manor in Arnforth and chief rents of 1-6-4d. a year, and
lands in Arnforth of annual rent of 147-7s; manor of
Leppington and lands there and in par. of Scrimingham of
annual rents of 468-6s; mess., mill and lands in Lepping-
ton and Barthorpe of annual rents of 54; mess., lands in
Barthorpe and par. of Acklam of annual rents of 348-17s.
(Freely acquitted except for annuities of 200 and 100
payable under (1747) will of Thos. Weddel, fee farm rent
of 21-13-10d. p.a. and 32-12s. for great and small tithes
and leases subsisting. (i) and (ii) can make leases - not
in reversion for max. of 21 yrs.) In pursuance of agree-
ment etc., intended marr., and jointure proposed by (i)
(iii) covenants with (i) to Pay 10,000 after marr. (i)
covenants with (iii) and (ii) to limit, declare and appt.
manors of Arnforth, Leppington, and mess., mill & lands
there and in Scrimingham, Barthorpe and Acklam to use of
(ii) if she survives him and for jointure during her life
and in lieu of dower.
