Abstract of the title of Edward Bensley Gardner, Esq., to certain property held of the Manor of Holme with Langford and forming lot 10 at a sale by auction on 6 July 1860 reciting Admission on 4 July 1827 of William Gardner, Biggleswade, land surveyor, on the sale to him for 74 on 22 October 1824 by Thomas Pateman of Langford, of - cottage in Flexmore End (1r) held of the Manor by yearly rent of 1s N copyhold property to be surrendered by T Pateman to W Gardner E common highway S William Cooper to which T Patemen was admitted on 4 August 1824 Also reciting Will of William Wells Gardner, Shortmead, Esq ... to use of nephew Edward Bensley Gardner Springfield House, Upper Clapton, Middx, absolutely freehold and copyhold estates in Langford in occupation of John Cooper subject to payment of annuity of 60 p.a. to niece Temperance Maria Gardner, daughter of his late brother, the Rev. Thomas Gardner said E B Gardner and testator's cousin Samuel Edward Cooch of Huntingdon, Esq, appointed executors He died on 13 January 1859. Will proved (PPR) on 9 March 1859.
