He thought he could not have been taken prisoner"; - notes he goes on to say, "I lost my best pal when I lost Dick and I shall never make another, I felt it that much when I got back from leave and he was not there"; - comments that her husband thinks Richard must have been hit again, as he couldn't have been taken prisoner where he was; - "I feel that I hardly know what to say to you, words seem so little"; - comments she has had an anxious wait over Easter as Jos has been in the thick of the fighting; - notes it was nearly a fortnight before she received a letter from him, "I really thought something had happened"; - notes that her husband had to run for his life and that he had never run so fast otherwise he would have been taken prisoner; - comments that she would like to hear from Christine again;
