Letter: from Kate at 13 Mill Street, Bedford to Christine Dillingham, at Kings Road, Flitwick - writer notes she doesn't know what to say to her, "I know words cannot help you in your sorrow"; - comments she has only just heard of Benny's (George William Dillingham) death; - notes it is a terrible time for her as Dick (Richard Dillingham) is not there to comfort her, - "We must pray that he will come home safe when it pleases God to give you some happiness again"; - notes she cannot visit as she is at Roses who is ill with tonsillitis so is helping out at the shop; - comments she will come and visit as soon as she can; - "I do feel deeply for you as I know what an aching heart means";
