Draft letter written by Christine Dillingham to an unknown person or organisation trying to ascertain the state and whereabouts of Richard Dillingham - Dear Sir, your letter of this morning to hand. - With regard to my husband Private Richard Dillingham No 42041 2nd AM A Coy No 2 Platoon 7th Lincoln's who was wounded 25th November last. I heard from Lt Beard and also from Captain Edgar of the 7th Lincs and they have both told me he was hit in the head and legs by a shell coming out of the trenches and that he was carried away by Stretcher-bearers from the 18th Division, to their Aid Post. They both saw him and spoke to him but they could not tell me anything further I think he must still be alive somewhere as I should have heard before this if he had died on his way to their Aid Post. Thanking you very much for the trouble you are taking and hoping that you may be able to find his whereabouts. Believe me to be Yours Sincerely Mrs G C Dillingham
