Scope and Content
The Act concerned is the Charitable Trusts Act, 1853 (16 and 17 Victoria c 137) which provided (in section 61) that accounts of charities wre to be sent in every year to the Clerk of the Peace and made avilable for public inspection.
Series contains statements of account of various local charities, sometimes lists of trustees or of the property of the charity, are included.
