Note: it appears that there must have been 2 inns in Silsoe called
the Bell; for this one is occupied by Jas. Polton, but the
other (see 5/335) was occupuied first by Mary Bird and then by
Mary Bust. Perhaps this was the older, and therefore is now
to be discontinued; since the other was built between 1721
and 1737 (see 5/321-3)
