    Abstract of Title Abstracts indenture 1920 between 1) Edward Thurlow Leeds Smith, solicitor of Sandy 2) John Sydney Biss, dental surgeon of Tempsford 3) Edward Sills, solicitor of Sandy (a) freehold hereditaments at Mission Hall, Greenhill St; and dwelling house 20 Greenhill St occ by W Ward Trustees to surrender copyhold land to Lord of the Manor [copyhold not described. Noted "not material to be here abstracted"] Recites John Usher, architect & surveyor late of Bedford, died Nov 1904, his will dtd 17 Feb 1890 and pro 1905 in Principal Probate Registry. Devised a dwelling house in Howbury St, Bedford to his gardener John Eddy upon Trust, which did not take effect as he had previously in his lifetime conveyed the house to JE in fee simple. All residue of freehold & customary hereditaments to his Trustees and executors Alfred Ernest Anthony, architect of Bedford and ETLS to such use as they should appoint within 21 yrs of his decease; and all residue of his personal estate to Trustees upon certain trusts and subject to certain powers declared in his will. Lois-Anne Usher, widow of JU, died 8 Sept 1906 AEA and ETLS from time to time had converted various parts of JU's real & personal estate into money and had long since paid off debts and mortgage AEA died 1920 (2) and (3) to be appointed Trustees in AEA's stead Abstracts Deed of appointment of new Trustee 1936 between 1) JSB, retired dental surgeon of Bedford (the surviving Trustee) 2) Charles Gude, estate agent of Little House, Oakley (the new Trustee) Recites ETLS died 1925, ES died 1932 Mission Hall now occ by Plymouth Brethren [and 20 Greenhill St occ by W.Ward in 1926]
