Case hinges on whether Hudson's have right to
another 6 years lease based on offer signed by
H. Muggleton 'a man of imperfect education' but not
accepted formally or sealed by Hudson's 21 Aug 1897 -
not licensed by Manor
'Shortly before his death and on more than one
occasion Hezekiah Muggleton expressly stated to his
son Martin Muggleton, one of the Trustees of his
will that Mr Hudson had several times requested him
to grant a fresh lease of the White Horse public
house but that he had always refused to do so, as he
was getting old and that he should never lease it to
anyone as it would make a difference in the selling
value and he told Martin Muggleton that Hudson was
a yearly tenant'
