Memorandum of Agreement 1) Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of Borough of Hertford 2) Wm South of Hertford, Gent 3) Alexander Peter McMullen and Osmond Henry McMullen, of Hertford, Brewers 1) own property incl House, yard, Corn Exchange and site for New Market (all between Fore Street and Railway Street, Hertford to East of this is Duncombe Arms Inn and Brewery owned by 2) and occ by 3) all marked on plan 1 (surveyed by W H Wilds, Borough Surveyor, 4 May 1889) agreed 1) eastern wall of market to be a party wall 2) and 3) to enjoy use of windows marked on plan 2 (East elevation of the 'Duncombe Arms' (surveyor and date as above; scale 1inch to 8 feet) until Corporation gives 12 months Notice to brick up. Corporation to be paid 5s pa by Wm South in acknowledgement of their right at any time to call upon him to close the openings
