  • Title
Letter This letter refers to the plantation of trees on Kimbolton Road attended to by Mr Foster. Mr Bennett gives his opinion that the trees are now large enough to do without protection. He proposes to grub up the undergrowth and lay it down to grass with the adjoining field. The plantation is much damaged by trespassers being so near to Bedford it is impossible to avoid this. Mr Bennett considers that his proposal will not make either the Duke's property or that of his neighbour unsightly. Lord Carrington was in Bedford the previous day obtaining signatures on a petition against the Birmingham Rail, which he will present to the House of Lords. Mr Bennett declined to sign the petition although he was told that the Duke had agreed to do so. A Letter is enclosed from Mrs Amelia Foster to the Duke regarding the plantation in Kimbolton Road and proposed alterations to it.
