  • Title
Letter Reads- Miss Stennings payment of 80 is for timber from Eversholt Glebe land to be invested for the incumbent. Bennett had assumed the executors had decided Mrs Chapman had no real claim for improvements by her husband as no more had been said until he heard Mrs Chapman had been to the Duke about it. He told the executors that Mr Chapman had paid half of the cost of draining(90)in 1842 and 30 allowed on this would be liberal but it was not his job to make a case for them. The Duke has said he wishes Mrs Chapman to be dealt with liberally and Mr Haedy may recommend 50 but beyond that he knows of no reasonable claim.
