Letter Indicates that Mr Bennett will be forwarding a parcel containing various documents: two deeds and 12 leases, Lord Charles' draft of lease, Lord Worsley's inclosure arrears lists to be cancelled and Mr Bennett's monthly accounts. Comments of the clauses in the Inclosures Act with relation to enabling exchanges to be made in parishes where no allotment of open fields were going forward. Comments that the procedure for a small exchange, such as between the Duke and Mr Rice Trevor, would be cumbrous and would not achieve the objective of avoiding the investigation of tithes in settlement etc. Mr Hacker thinks that if a cottage is properly built "the cost of repair is hardly worth naming since all that is required is a lime brush and some new glass upon a change of tenant. In 40 years one may expect to spend 5 years value. Comments on staff movement - Furze for Steppingley and Paxton for Potsgrove "for reasons which I gave". Mr Law Hodges has now given an invitation to anyone interested in tile making to visit his works and says that "young Hatcher" will be given every explanation. "We are to get from the Government about 60 drawback on the stock of glass. It has caused a good deal of trouble but the sum was worth trying for".
