- TitleLetter Reads- Underkeepers are paid 14/- cottage and garden free as elsewhere. The rabbit killers and partridge ground men should not be valued at more. James White and Thomas Warwick have an extra 3/- paid for long service. Bennett recommends the Duke to pay them 1/- pw more than ordinary underkeepers. Warwick's livery will be discontinued and they will be on the same footing. White pays 3 pa to his paddock. The vermin men should be charged rent of say 40/- pa which would keep up the distinction from underkeepers.
