    Letter Mr Bennett writes that he was aware that the Duke meant all the keepers to have some help during the present poaching season and told them to get such assistance as they deemed necessary without causing needless expense and to use their discretion. Earl De Grey's keepers were lucky enough to get hold of three of the gang stealing eggs - warrants are out against them and they have "bolted". He supposes that the others, seeing the district watched at so many points have ceased at nights. The eggs now all being sat upon for some time they cannot sell them and that is over. The keepers still have some help to prevent these fellows visiting to destroy nests wantonly. The keepers will now start killing a few leverets on the outside, they all admit that the increase is very great. Bennett goes on to draw attention to the "falling off" of the finances at the Woburn Schools as shown in the printed reports and asks Mr Haedy to draw the Duke's attention to this
