- TitleLetter Reads- Bennett writes that Mr Green has indicated that a Mr Checkley of Lidlington wishes to make an offer to the Duke of his property in Lidlington. He forwards a copy of the offer in writing. Bennett gives his opinion that "Mr Checkley's opinion of the value of his property is so preposterous that I was tempted at once almost to inform him that is was unnecessary to trouble the Duke about it". Bennett goes on to outline the proposed cost and possible value to the Duke.
