    Letter Reads- Bennett explains the return of labourers for any parish is inacurate as some farms are in more than one parish and some labourers do not work in the parish they live in. He suggest the only solution is to take the one of residence. He will try and trace information as to ways but before his day there was no duplicate kept in his office of vouchers sent to the Bedford Office for payment of wages. John Clayton who died at Cople was the oldest former farm bailiff alive in Bennett's time and his evidence is the best available [re wages] The Duke asked him his opinion of "Farmers Insurance Office" and he replied "as bad as possible for I had no opinion of Mr Shaw, the Managing Director; who I think is a speculative adventurer". He later learnt the Duke is listed "Honorary Director" and he hopes Mr Haedy willl have an opportunity to speak to his Grace and warn him. Before he knew he refused to agree to a tenant's insurance with them and he trust it will not appear he is flying in the face of His Grace and that Mr Haedy will explain
