Letter Reads- Who are the consumers of the increased amount of beer? No one can suppose the labourer's situation so improved as to let them buy beer from daily earnings. Reports from petty sessions of game prosecution supplies the answer. Those who fire ricks are too cautious to tell their intentions, but all the 'evil spirits' congregate and excite each other and one can imagine on a dark night on the way home one firing a rick from want and mischief if not revenge. Regarding poaching, preserves well protected by game keepers will be left alone but there will always be some to take the risk in a wide range inefficiently granted. Probably people from the neighbourhood council are only a very small portion of regular poachers. Trouble with imperfect tiles for drainage is being overcome, but Oakley caly has proved inferior. Bennett is in every field (being drained) once a week at least and care is being taken to get the work well and carefully done.
