Letter Reads- Has told Mr. Pearse that he hardly thinks Duke will sell land on Bedford side of the Asylum to the County Justices for jail purposes as such an erection would materially deteriorate value of adjoining land which some day may be required for other purposes. Mr. Lawfords says his friend Mr. Ashford is retiring from business on account of ill health, a man of quiet habits and pursuits, too much a gentleman to behave in any way might offend. Has only one child, anxious to view the house.
