    Letter Reads- Stenning find he can buy more Ampthill elm, but not at higher price. Considering the large amount of capital locked up in the Ampthill timber, so much being elm, and looking to improvement after timber is thinned, I think best to sell. Benson has written about a farm in Devon - I think he will hardly get a man of skill & capital to leave the north; the distance is considerable, & change of climate is & neighbourhood difficult to get over, particularly if a family man. Farmers live in a confined circle, & those who are worth anything do not like to move far.
