Letter Reads- Lord Fortescue's cottage at Wyboston not suitable for Tavistock; barely 40s.; and anyhow too late for this year's claim. Lord Wriothesley's cottage will make a vote for Lord Chas. Hacker's report on Ampthill house; advises giving the shooting without charge; Baron Parker (?) might begin to sell game. The present cost of the game est. at Ampthill is 260 per annum - too large; should be 2 men instead of 4. In fixing rent, it should be remembered there are 11 acres pleasure ground; kitchen gardens 5 acres; if Baron does not want them, they could be let to market-gardener at Ampthill or Maulden.
