    Letter Reads- Lord St. John's offer that of an anxious buyer; Duke should not refuse; no great object to keep this farm. Outlay needed if we did so. More than it would have fetched for 20 years. It was a very pauperised parish; no future good offer to be expected, except from owner of Melchbourne. As to selling property in general: better to purchase in this neighbourhood, like Ridgmont park.; Miss Monoux's at Eversholt; & Platt's Lidlington estate. [Apparently the farm is at Riseley.] A tileyard at Oakley; will write to Duke
