    Letter from Matthew Duane, Lincolns Inn Reads- Have considered the application by the Earl of Jersey to His Grace the Duke of Bedford for the money for which the jewels were sold, It was agreed by the marriage settlement that the money with interest when it reached 20000 should be used to buy lands to be settled to the use of the Lord Jersey for life. The money could be obtained by a decree but until such a decree is produced His Grace cannot part with the money.
