  • Title
Letter possibly from Thomas Spinke to William Batten of Thorney Reads- The Frenchmen's petition to my lord was for abatement for this year only. I have acquainted my Lord with what you and I considered - to forbear year's rent till within 1 year's of the expiration of the term, but my lord made other suggestions. Consider all things and send me your judgement what will most take with thim and be most for my lord's advantage - the tenants must not expect any more abatements. I have a bill from Underwood for 400. I have more to write but my head is weak. Remembrances to sister to Joan and the poor children Will and Tom.
