  • Admin/biog history
First published in December 1947 by the Publicity Department in 1950 it became the responsibility of the Personnel Department. In July 1959 editorship reverted to the Publicity Department 'mainly because the demarcation line between Public Relations - one of the functions of [the Publicity] department - and certain Works Relations, as performed by INTERCOM and its Editor, is frequently so fine that it is difficult to differentiate between them' (SH Pryor, Publicity Manager Intercom July 1959 p3). At this time it also became a joint magazine for employees in Bedford and Chester and a new numbering system was employed see IG6/8 for magazines from this date onwards.
