    War Diary 1915-1919 The Battalion began the war at Gwyn Street, Bedford and originally formed part of East Midland Brigade, East Anglian Division, moving to Romford [Essex], then Bury St.Edmunds [Suffolk] in August 1914. In May 1915 the battalion moved to St.Albans [Hertfordshire] as part of 162nd Brigade, 54th (East Anglian) Division and sailed from Plymouth on 26 May 1915, arriving in Mudros on 10 Aug 1915 and Suvla Bay on 11 Aug 1915. On 4 Dec 1915 it moved back to Mudros, then Egypt, finishing the war in Beirut [Lebanon] 54th (East Anglian) Division comprised as follows: 161st Brigade: 1/4th Essex Regiment; 1/5th Essex Regiment; 1/6th Essex Regiment; 1/7th Essex Regiment 162nd Brigade: 1/5th Bedfordshire Regiment; 1/4th Northamptonshire Regiment; 1/10th London Regiment (joined Apr 1915); 1/11th London Regiment (joined Apr 1915); 1/1st Cambridgeshire Regiment (left Feb 1915); 2/1st Cambridgeshire Regiment (left Apr 1915); 1/1st Hertfordshire Regiment (Aug-Nov 1914) 163rd Brigade: 1/4th Norfolk Regiment; 1/5th Norfolk Regiment; 1/4th Suffolk Regiment (left Nov 1914); 1/5th Suffolk Regiment; 1/8th (Isle of Wight), Hampshire Regiment (joined Apr 1915) Attached: 1/1st Norfolk Yeomanry; 1/1st Suffolk Yeomanry 10 Oct 1915 to 22 Feb 1916
