- TitleLease between Elizabeth Young, widow of Thomas Young late of Bendish, and Charles Nicholls, gent of Hitchin. Elizabeth won a writ of dower against Nicholls and afterwards in 1711-12 judgement for a recovery of the third part of 83 acs freehold land, 3 ac freehold meadow, 3 ac freehold pasture and 10 ac freehold wood in Kings Walden and Pauls Walden, and a third of the tithes from 90 acs land in Kings Walden, as her dower on the dowry on Thomas Young her late husband. Charles Nicholls was then seised of these premises as of his freehold, and paid Elizabeth 100 for all her dower and costs until last Michaelmas. Elizabeth has agreed to let her third and dower toNicholls for 21 years if she lives that long at 16 13s 4d.
