    Defeazance between 1) Charles Nicholls, gent of Hitchin 2) John Cripps, gent of Pauls Walden If Cripps pays Nicholls 300 and 900 plus interest on or before 2 Jan next, then the 2 recognizances shall be void Recites - John Cripps in a recognizance of 10 November 1708 acknowledged before Sir John Holt, Lord Chief Justice of Great Britain, that he is bound to Charles Nicholls in 2000 - Indenture 16 April 1708 between 1) John Cripps and his wife Mary 2) Charles Nicholls 3) Nathaniel Young, gent of Pauls Walden, and his wife Sarah, in consideration of 300 paid by Charles Nicholls. Cripps agreed to pay 318 to Nicholls, that is, 9 on 17 Oct 1708, and 309 on 16 Apr next - indenture 1 Oct when Cripps borrowed a further 900 from Nicholls, to pay back on 2 Jan next
