Fine 1641 between Henry Fuller, John Clark and Elizabeth Brace, querents, and Francis Tavernor esq, Richard Tavenor and Martha his wife, deforciants, of 80 ac land and 20 ac pasture in Higham Gobion III. Conveyance 18 Nov 1641 from Francis and Richard Tavenor to Elizabeth Brace of (a) and (b), and deed of covenant indemnifying Elizabeth Brace against all claims on the premises by the Rector IV. Mortgage 13 Jul 1666 in which Elizabeth Brace (and her son) borrowed 60 against (b) from Thomas Halfpenny for 99 years V. Feoffment 13 Sep 1679 conveying from William Clark and wife Sarah to Edmund Castell DD for life, remaindered to Edmund Herris, William Herris and Elizabeth Herris, children of William Herris deceased, (d) 3r of land called Radworth (e) 1r called Halfpond Field VI. Lease & release 12/13 Oct 1693 conveying from Henry Collier, citizen & merchant tailor of London and Elizabeth his wife, one of the daughters of William Herris esq, to John Field, gent, of one third part of (d) and (e) Fine 1694 between John Field querent and Henry and Elizabeth Collier deforciants of a third part of 40ac of land and 17 ac pasture in Higham Gobion and Barton VII. Lease & release 11/12 Jul 1745 [see Z937/11/28] - loan since transferred to Thomas Paternoster and William Malein Will 12 Mar 1748 of Thomas Field devised - all freehold and copyhold in Hitchin and Ippollits, all closes in Higham Gobion called Barton Bridge Closes, all copyhold in Shitlington, Stondon, Gravenhurst and Meppershall, to Ann his wife for life - all other freehold and copyhold to his wife Ann for life, then to Joseph M Pierson in trust, allowing his son Charles Nicholls Field 6 pa until he is 24, and paying off some of the mortgage. When all incumbrances are paid off, then to said son; but in case his son should marry Mary Atkinson then these benefits to be revoked and the premises go instead to his nephew Charles Nicholls Field, eldest son of his brother John Field.
