Copy of feoffment from 1) Francis Taverner esq of Hexton, Hertfordshire and his son and heir Richard Taverner, gent, to 2) Thomas Field, yeoman of Barton-in-the-Clay, for 300 from (2) to (1) for - (a) Chappel Furlong containing 20 ac enclosed arable reputed to be parcel of the manor of Higham Gobion, lying in West Field alias Great Field and abutting E the land of (1) called the Methershott in the same field which was lately divided from it by a quicksett hedge and ditch, abutting W on land of Henry Fuller and John Clarke which was similarly divided from them by a quicksett hedge and ditch, and abutting S on land of Richard Taverner called South Field alias Pudding Marsh Field - (b) 1 ac pasture lying between Chappel Furlong S and the Parsonage Pightle and Rouells Closes N and reversions, remainders, ways, hedges, freebords etc Witnessed by John Field, William Bunnian, Edward Lacey, John Griffith and John Roger.
