- letters from headmaster reporting closure of the school due to air raid warnings [21 and 31 Oct 1940] [on 21 Oct 1940 5 high explosive bombs were dropped along the railway line in Harlington, Toddington and Sundon while two high explosive bombs fell in Eversholt; on 31 Oct no bombs fell in the area - source: WW2/AR/CO/2/2];
