Scope and Content
1) Mary Howard, widow, of The Grange, Kempston (vendor),
2) His Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for the War Dept (purchaser),
for 6,962 -10s in fee simple, of
59.113 acres in Kempston, coloured pink and pink hatched red on plan, and on 1926 edition Ordnance Survey map numbered :-
199 (part) - 1.350 acres;
234 (part) - 36/766 acres;
235 - 20.395 acres;
235a - .465 acres;
253 (part) - .137 acres.
Right for (2) to maintain the pipes and manholes shown by red lines and red square dots on the plan, reserving to (1) and to Kempston Urban District Council (who own the land edged blue) a right of way with or without horses or other animals, carts, carriages, cycles and motor vehicles along the access road marked E and F and coloured pink.
(2) covenants to
- clear the ditches between A-B and C-D on the plan;
- allow (1) to maintain the existing connection to the foul drainage shown as green lines on the plan, and to keep it in good order;
- restore the drainage system to its former route when no longer required for War Dept purposes, shown by green dotted line;
- erect a stockproof fence around the premises marked by inner 'T'.
(1) has the option to buy any part deemed superfluous by (2) within 21 years.
Covenant to produce scheduled deeds, beginning with agreement 1887.
