  • Title
Letter from George Stephen Darlow, The Manor House, Denton, nr Newhaven, Sussex, to his Aunt Peggy [Margaret Dawson]. Thanks her for the diary. Had a most enjoyable Christmas at Headquarters. Had two Christmas dinners in the mess, one on Christmas Eve with a party and cards afterwards and one on Christmas day, and in the evening a party for the men and the ATS. On Boxing Day there was a fancy dress ball. Went as a Russian, teamed up with a Wren who had also gone as a Russian and they won a prize of a half bottle of whisky. Hoping to go home for 9 days leave on New Years Eve and meet with brother Henry Mark Darlow who would also be on leave.
