(i) The schoolmaster, Mr. Brooks, gets £20 p.a.,
& the children pay 2d. a week on Monday mornings.
(ii) 38 boys attending. Average attendance of
26 over the past year.
(iii) There are no printed rules. Boys must pay
for the whole week if they attend any part of it.
Names are not taken off the books for 3 months
after the last attendance.
(iv) Farmers' sons etc. pay 4d. a week & expect
to receive more attention.
(v) Unlike Cople, all children are over 8 yrs. old,
the younger ones going to the Infants, where they
only pay 1d. . Also infant girls & girls attending
2 days a week only pay 1d. . Thinks 1d. a
week is enough except for the older boys.
