    Stevington - Well Pightle etc Manor of Steventon Re-admission At a Court held on 16 October 1746 it was presented that since the last Court (held on 1 October 1746) Samuel Plackett and wife Mary committed voluntary waste on a pightle of pasture called Well Pightle in Stevington by felling, cutting down and selling timber trees growing on said pightle (ie 30ash and 30 elm) without lease of the Lord whereby they have forfeited their right of pasture but also all other their lands held of the Manor. Said Well Pightle and other lands of Samuel and Mary Plackett were seized by the Bailiff on 18 December 1746. On 20 December the Bailiff seised a cottage in the occupation of John Read and also Wells Pightle in occupation of Richard Pool and 1a arable in occupation of Mr Underhill Now Samuel Plackett and wife Mary pray to be re-admitted tenants to said property The Lord 'of his special grace and in Regard to the Poverty of the said Samuel Plackett and Mary his wife' has granted seisin of all the forfeited property except pightle on which waste was committed, which Lord reserved to himself to use of Samuel and Mary for life and the life of the longer liver of them fine remitted 'out of regard to their poverty'
