    Stevington - Mansion House, Birts Close, Home Close etc Manor of Steventon Conditional Surrender On 18 October 1768 Elizabeth Wallis of Stevington, widow, surrendered - messuages, tenements or mansion house in Stevington with barns, stables, malting, dovecote or dovehouse - 48a arable land, ley or grass in common and open fields of Stevington - close pasture called Birts Close (3a 2r) and barn built thereon - Home Close adjoining said mansion house (4a) now in tenure or occupation of Elizabeth Wallis (and described in Court Roll of 16 October 1746) - all other copyhold lands of Elizabeth Wallis. All which said premises were devised to Elizabeth Wallis by the will of her sister, Susannah Ashton, spinster, deceased To use of Azariah Stratton, St George, Hanover Square, Middx, yeoman, who is now admitted to the premises.fine and rent not given Now said Azariah Stratton surrendered - said mansion house, land, closes etc to use of John Ryley, Wellingborough, gentleman, to secure repayment of £350 and interest at £4 10s % on 14 April (being same sum secured by a Demise or Mortgage of 14 October 1768). If money repaid surrender to be void, otherwise to remain in force 18 October 1768 In margin - note that mortgage paid off and satisfaction entered on Court Rolls
