  • Title
Cross Keys Inn, Luton. Letter from Isaac Piggott, St Albans, Herts, to Mr James Gutteridge, Luton, Beds regarding the legacies. The husbands are entitled to them having taken out letters of administration so as to give proper discharges. As he understands she is averse to selling the house, if she cannot find anyone to advance sufficient sum on mortgage, then he will try to procure her £60 or £70. Mr Young (Mrs Hooker's son-in-law) thought he (I.P) had received from Mrs Rogers (Mrs Hooker's sister) the title deeds of the Cross Keys. They are not in his possession but with the title deeds of land held by Messrs Burr, lately sold by William Day of Kimpton to Mr Smith, so Mrs Hooker would need to procure copies.
