  • Title
    Abstract of the title of Mr Sidney William Chamberlain and Miss Ellen Annie Chamberlain to a plot of land in Chase Street, Luton, reciting: Conveyance of 3 January 1910 (i) John William Verran, Crown and Anchor Inn, New Bedford Road, Luton, Licensed Victualler Arthur William Cain, 143 Wellington Street, Luton, auctioneer's clerk. (ii) William Chamberlain 51 Tavistock Street, Luton, ex-Inspector of Police reciting conveyance of 19 December 1898 between Walter Seabrook, Fox Inn, Luton, and Henry Ringrose, by which part of said lands were conveyed to H Ringrose by way of mortgage to secure £550. Reciting will of W Seabrook dated 1 July 1903 by which he devised his real estate to J W Verran and A W Cain in trust for son, Conrad Cyril Seabrook, and daughter, Blanche Marion Seabrook, in equal shares as tenants in common. Said W Seabrook died on 27 July 1903. Will proved (PPR) on 3 March 1905. Reciting will of W Ringrose dated 5 January 1871 by which he bequeathed all real and personal property to wife Maria Ringrose for her separate use. He died on 15 December 1908. Will proved (PPR) on 8 January 1909. Reciting also conveyance of 1 January 1910 from M Ringrose to J W Verran and A W Cain, of said property. Now in consideration of £600 (i) conveys to (ii) - 17 cottages etc in Luton (1r and 2 yds), 5 of which cottages front on Chase Street and remaining 12 (in block) at rear, are known as Bailey Field Cottages. Reciting also Mortgage of 4 January 1910 between William Chamberlain and Fanny Ann Neve, for £400 Reciting also Will of William Chamberlain of 6 September 1921 by which he appointed his son, Sidney William Chamberlain, and daughter, Ellen Annie Chamberlain, as executors, and devised remainder of his estate to them in equal shares. He died on 25 February 1925. Will proved (PPR) on 19 May 1925.
