The format is as described under Z 648/2 above and does not change throughout the series.
It is assumed that gaps in the series cannot now be filled, the material being lost.
Some daybooks have a letter on the spine indicating that books were lettered in series "A-Z" for ease of consultation. Once "Z" had been reached the next book in the series reverted to "A"; later volumes, however, do not seem to follow this pattern.
Note: the first daybook does not represent the foundation date of E.D. Fisher & Sons, nor the last daybook the date of the firm's liquidation.
