    Probate of the will of Francis Butterfield of Luton, yeoman. 13 June 1847 Gives and bequeaths as follows: - to Francis Butterfield of Luton, yeoman, his only son, all his real and personal estate. - to Elizabeth Ainsworth, his daughter and wife of Samuel Ainsworth, farmer, of Higham Gobion, £100 for her own separate use to be paid within twelve months after his decease. - to Thomas, Richard, John, Francis, Ann, Ellen and Sarah Roberts, his grandchildren by his daughter, Mary Ann Roberts of Winch Hill, £10 each to be paid by his executor as soon as they attain the age of twenty-one years. to Sarah, Daniel and Francis Butterfield, his grandchildren by his son Francis Butterfield, £10 each to be paid as soon as they attain the age of twenty-one years. - to Francis Butterfield, his son, the rest of his estate, real and personal, after the payment of any debts. Appoints Francis Butterfield sole executor. Witnessed by William Hurst of Luton, solicitor and his clerk Thomas Thomlinson. Probate granted out of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury on 13 July 1848 describing the testator as formerly a shoemaker. Estate sworn at under £600.
