    Declaration of Mr Joseph Kilpin as to the Emery family. I, Joseph Kilpin, Bedford, gent, declare I am 48 years of age, the son of Elizabeth Kilpin afterwards the wife of William Freeman of Bedford, who was the daughter of the late Rev John Emery of Kimbolton, Minister of the Gospel. Further declares always understood that my grandfather the said John Emery resided at the Grange, Ravensden and was a farmer there in about October 1775 and subsequently left that place giving up his farm to his son and changed his residence to Kimbolton having entered the Baptist Ministry where he resided until about September 1799 Further declares that the proper description of the said John Emery on or about 17 October 1775 would be John Emery, at the Grange, Ravensden, farmer and that on or about 4 September 1799 his proper description would be the Reverend John Emery, Kimbolton, Minister of the Gospel. Further declares that John Emery died a widower and I know from certain family memoranda that my grandmother the wife of John Emery died on 27 October 1796 and was buried on about 1 November 1796 in the ground attached to the Baptist Chapel at Little Staughton And I make the solemn declaration by virtues of provisions of the Act for the abolition of oaths and affirmations.
