    To:Geo Austin. "...Gresham's will, Shefford. I greet you well. I cordially wish you and all yours (wishes in which my family join) a pleasant Christmas and happy New Year. I sand you on the other side copy Mr. Jennings Letter to me of the 20th inst. These delays in the Trust are anything but satisfactory. But I think the inhabitants of Shefford ought to know that they arise from circumstances over which neither yourself nor the executors have any control. We have albeit done what we could to set the machinery moving and cannot that I am aware of it prevent Vice Chancellor Stuart from taking (illeg) course. I should have been glad if the widows could before this have had their first donation, but we are powerless. Would it not also be expedient for you to inform Revd. Mr. Williamson of the present position of the business and with the causes of the delay notwithstanding the pains we have taken to get a scheme (illeg) and brought into operation." U.V. 25 Dec 1858 On dorse copy letter from Ed Jennings to F. Wing: "Vice Chancellor Stuart will not be able to approve this remodelled scheme until after the 1st January next. I attended appointment this morning at Chambers to proceed but the Vice Chancellor's appointments were too many to enable him to go into (rest of letter not clear.) U.V.
