ITEMS FOUND IN JAR IN FOUNDATIONS OF MANSE. Note: These documents were found on 17 June 1994 when the Manse on the site of Wootton Baptist Church was demolished. They had been placed in a stone jar which had been sealed with a piece of glass and buried in the foundations. The jar was shattered when it was discovered by a workman, Stephen Dawson. There was also a piece of wood with the date 1853 marked out in nails; also on another side T S the minister's initials, and on another side Leicester in ink. A number of the names are those of ancestors of current church members.
