    Agreement: (with 3 subsequent alterations) Chas. Dymoke jr. and Josh. Hartwell -- Gt. Hooks wood; Before 1 November Josh. Hartwell shall have all the soil (except that Ste. Parish is to have the hill next his land); and such small spires as are left growing. The roots in 2 a. are to be left in the ground after the great spires and underwood are removed. The price will be £15 per acre. The proceeds of sale of timber and bricks are to be divided between them. Brickmaking may continue for 2 years. At Michaelmas come twelvemonth Dymoke shall procure a piece of Hookes meadow to be granted to Hartwell to make a way into Hartwell's other ground. Timber and bricks may be carted through the said other ground of Hartwell into the common highway in Tarlett End till Michaelmas come 2 years. Hartwell will mortgage to Dymoke for £300 for 1 year only. 22 April 1685. The 3rd part of the Lean Wood, which was intended to be gtd. to Hartwell by Mr. Hackett shall now be conveyed to Dymoke, who will pay Hartwell the money he has paid, with interest. 29 Oct. Hartwell has paid £400, and as this is earlier than was stipulated Dymoke shall pay 5% interest on what is paid earlier. There may however be more due from Hartwell @ £15 per acre. 5 January 1685/6 Dymoke has paid £300, part of purchase of "Hartwell part of the Lean", and he is to pay interest on what remains unpaid. The net profit of timber and bricks from the Hooke wood, which under the agreement were due to Dymoke, shall be received by Hartwell towards this, the "overplush", if any, being handed by him to Dymoke.
