    Lease (counterpart of lease see X811/72) i) Francis Bassett, the Heath, Leighton Buzzard, Esquire iii) Alexander Phillips Muddiman, Leighton Buzzard, stationer and postmaster consideration - rent i) demises to ii) - messuage, garden, laundry, stable and premises in High Street, Leighton Buzzard, in occupation of Mrs Adey, widow term - 21 years from 25 March 1879 rent - £60 yearly, payable half yearly various provisions as to painting and condition of building In case the proposed alterations, as to the removal of the palisading in front of said premises and opening in the wall for the purposes of the Post Office, take place, the premises shall be restored at the end of the term to state and condition to that now existing i) will allow ii) a moiety of first half year's rent for purpose of aiding in paying for certain repairs and alterations to the buildings Term may be terminated at end of 7 or 14 years If ii) wishes during first 7 years of term to purchase fee simple at £1600 and give 12 months notice of this, then i) shall prepare an abstract of title before end of notice period, and on payment of said sum and interest at £4 10s p.a. from expiry of notice until payment, shall convey premises to ii) at cost of ii) signature of i) witness John Newton, solicitor, Leighton Buzzard.
