Thomas Field, junior, eldest son of Thomas Field of Cockernhoe, Offley, Herts, gentleman, by his former wife, Mary, sometime called Mary Sowthen, deceased James Kingham, Leighton Buzzard, tallow chandler, and wife, Martha ii)John Cooper, Luton, salesman iii) John Knowlton, Leighton Buzzard, chirugeon iv) Thomas Marsom, Luton, ironmonger Nathan Marsom, Luton, tallow chandler reciting lease and release of 9 and 10 July 1725 a) John Cooke and Mary Cooke b) John Cooper, Natham Marson a) conveyed to b) - messuage at Eaton Bray, late in occupation of Richard Burr NW late Richard Burr - close of pasture adjoining (1a) N Richard Burr - close of common ley ground (2 a) E above close W brook N close and orchard of Richard Burr - 2r meadow in Stanbridge Mead shooting on Eaton Brook now in tenure of Richard Burr and John Carter George Young, late of Pauls Warden, Herts, deceased, by his will dated 9 February 1691 gave to Mary,former wife of Thomas Field, senior, and mother of Thomas Field, junior, by name of his (testator's) granddaughter,Mary Southen, for her life and then to her lawful heirs for ever - his messuage etc in Thrales End - 2 messuages and malt house and moiety of well and pump at upper end of said malthouse and buildings occupied or used with said 2 messuages in Luton, in occupation of Thomas Blackbourne and William Weatherhead except 18 inches ground therein mentioned and except one annuity to be paid during life of Jane, the then wife of the testator If Mary had no heirs then property to go to George Young. reciting lease and release of 23 and 24 June 1721 [X 811/1] Now in consideration of barring all estates tail in above property and for the better settling of it it is agreed by all parties to these presents that i) will before end of Michaelmas term next at the joint costs of Mary Cooke, Thomas Field, junior, and James and Martha Kingham, levy a fine to iv) of the above mentioned property, to following uses: As to Eaton Bray property and meadow in Stanbridge Mead - to use of John Cooper and Nathan Marson and heirs of John Cooper, for ever As to Thrales End property and malthouse etc in Luton - to use of Thomas Field, younger As to property in Leighton Buzzard - to use of iii signatures of all endorsed witnesses Joane Sowthen Thomas Marsom Jonathan Eavestafe Elisabeth Chapman Richard Hawkins Ann Beckles.
